How Hard Is a Perfect 700 in Krillion? What 75 Saved Dives Show
A perfect Krillion dive requires seven 100-point answers: 7 × 100 = 700 points, or 7,000 meters. The arithmetic is simple. The saved data shows why availability is not.
Fourteen saved dives had no 700-point path
A 700 requires every one of the seven prompts to include at least one One in a Krillion entry. That condition held on 61 of the first 75 saved dives. On the other 14 days, at least one prompt had no 100-point entry, so the sum of the seven displayed maxima was below 700.
This is a property of the saved sheets, not evidence about anybody’s score. Krillion does not publish a complete player-score distribution that this site can verify.
The 14 dates with a lower saved ceiling
For each date, take the highest stored score for each of its seven prompts and add them. Thirteen sheets top out at 685 (six 100s plus one 85). July 27 tops out at 660 (six 100s plus one 60). These are saved-roster maxima, not verified player results or a guarantee about later edits to the live game.

What the 623 saved gems look like
The 75 sheets contain 623 entries in the top tier. They often fit one of these recall shapes:
- Historical or obsolete versions: GRiD, opera hat, Toronto Huskies.
- Technical terms: lunulae, otoliths, stapedius.
- Wording-specific edge cases: Casino Royale (1967), Boro the Caterpillar, Wings.
- Regional specialties: su filindeu, etrog, mahleb.
- Memorable oddities: super-sneeze and rebuild vision.
These are editorial observations, not official gem categories. The official FAQ explains that the top pick is not based on rarity alone: beyond a certain point the curator also weighs “fun factor.” That is why memorizing a frequency list cannot determine the next gem.
Availability is only the first hurdle
Across the saved dataset, prompts average 1.19 top-tier entries. A player still has to:
- interpret the prompt exactly;
- recall one of those entries within 25 seconds;
- submit a spelling or name form the game recognizes; and
- do it seven times on the same dive.
The archive contains no player-choice frequencies, so it cannot turn those four steps into an honest probability of scoring 700.
A useful benchmark that does not pretend to be an average
Seven Deep Cuts total 595 points. This is a tier-arithmetic benchmark, not a claim that skilled players normally score 595. Likewise, 78.4% of saved answer entries are labeled Deep Cut, but players do not choose uniformly from every stored entry.
A more useful review is prompt by prompt: where did your submitted word land, and what different valid branch could you recall next time? The score calculator totals your seven tiers, while the answer checker finds dated recorded tiers for a word.
Method and limits
The counts cover this site’s 75 saved sheets from July 16 through September 28, 2026. A prompt is “gemless” when its saved roster contains no One in a Krillion group. The maximum claim is calculated from the displayed tier scores; it does not confirm whether anyone attempted or completed a perfect dive.
